Nicholas is a London based queer filmmaker. In 2021 he received the BAFTA Piggot Scholarship to pursue an MFA in Directing at the AFI Conservatory, ranked the “no.1 film school” in the US by Hollywood Reporter. After graduating from AFI Nicholas moved back home to London to continue making films.
His latest short, 'Some Kind of Paradise' premiered in competition at Tribeca 2024, and was nominated for the IRIS Prize. It went on to screen at numerous Oscar/BAFTA qualifying festivals internationally, including AFI Fest, Hollyshorts, BFI Flare, Norwich Film Festival, and Calgary International Film Festival. At CIFF, it was awarded the Oscar qualifying Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short.
Nicholas' filmmaking places queer characters front and centre in lyrical dramas that blend visceral social-realism and heightened, colourful camp.
He is now developing his debut feature through the BFI’s Early Development scheme.
